NYFW 2017

Happy monday people! It’s time for my new blog post about this season’s fashion week or should I say, New York freezing week experience!

nyny

Third time attending NYFW and counting! I can assure you there’s something different each season.  You can see how people are getting more and more interested in this fashion evolution. Manhattan streets are filled with photographers taking shots to fashionistas from all over the world, fiery-ing their walk.

I tend to arrive one hour earlier to the shows just to see the enormous variety of styles happening in the streets. Here are some street style shots outside NYFW’s venue.

THE RUNWAY

So let’s start with day one, show one. I got up that day at 8:00 a.m with the scary news that there was a snowstorm in NYC. We thought they were going to cancel some shows but thank God they didn’t. I was enjoying every minute of my morning, watching snowflakes fall down the sky while playing some classical music, and in that moment, I got some inspiration for my first look, ALL WHITE, just like a falling snowflake (with a little bit of pink scoops.) I swear this is one of the few times you’ll ever see me wearing pink.

My first show was Tadashi Shoji Ready to Wear FW17 (American-based Japanese fashion designer.) There was a huge velvet movement going on in there. In between crowns and velvet gowns, Tadashi showed us what a FW17 women should look like. Oh, and yes, there was a #FREETHENIP situation!

Second, was Noon by Noor (Shaikha Noor Al Khalifa and Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa.) These amazing designers played with airy shapes and romantic tones in their ready to wear FW17 collection. Light and nude tones and see-through fabrics were the main subject of the show.

Third, was Fernando Atelier, a Honduran designer inspired in evening looks.

And last but not least, I’m particularly excited about this fourth show, and yes, it’s 100% #PROUDLYMEXICAN. I’m talking about the Mexican brand Pineda Covalin. It was their first time in NYFW! It was such an honor to be part of their big time debut in the city of lights. There were silk gowns and their remarkable colors and tones. This is the clear example that society is about uniting, not dividing. Mexicans are indeed part of the fashion industry here and in every place of the world. There are no walls in fashion, there are no walls inside people’s heart; therefore, there shall be no walls in this world.

¡Felicidades Pineda Covalin!

STREET STYLE SITUATION

Now starting with my street style situation, before arriving to NYC, I jumped to every corner of Instagram looking for a photographer with the same sense of style as mine, someone to help me during these days. Luckily for me, I got the chance to meet an incredible girl from Russia working as a photographer in NYC (Instagram: photo_tatianakatkova) and honestly no one can deny her amazing work. We were taking photos at different spots of NYC to create a cool scenario for each look.
